Who am I? Well isn’t that the question we all ask ourselves from birth to death? Well it’s a good thing that’s not what you’re wanting to know, otherwise we’d be here all day as I pondered it. Well my name is Richard L. McCutchen, and as you can probably guess I’m a programmer.
I’ve been programming since the late 80s/early 90s, I know that makes me old doesn’t it? I knew at a very young age that I was destined to be something different, even though when I was a kid virtually no one had any kind of computer in their home (remember, I’m old).
I’m an avid C# programmer, probably from my roots in languages like C++ and the like (Things like C# weren’t even thought of when I was going to school), and cant see myself doing anything else when I grow up. I say I’m an avid programmer, some might say I’m an obsessed programmer (I have the name PsychoCoder for a reason you know?!).
Speaking of the name PsychoCoder, wondering where it came from and why I use it (well you’re going to find out anyways so there). An ex-employer I had, it was a small company and I was his lead programmer. I was known to work 12, 16, 18 hours a day, but only on days ending with ‘y’, and one day, after about 12 hours, he looked at me and said “Your really a psycho coder aren’t you?”, and well it’s stuck to this day.
I’m what you would call a high-tech redneck. I live way out in the country in Eastern Washington (Springdale, Washington to be exact) with my wife and our abundance of animals. When I say abundance I mean it, we got 5 dogs , and 4 cats (2 inside and 2 outside), and just couldn’t imagine living in a city again (being in the country really has it advantages, but we’re not going to get into that here).
