Welcome back to my blog. I know I’ve been gone for a while but I am back and rearing to go with my ramblings on life, love and programming. This has been a tough year for me, on May 5th 2016 I was diagnosed with Stage III Ampullary Carcinoma :
Ampullary cancer, or ampullary carcinoma, is a cancer that forms in a body part called the ampulla of Vater. The ampulla of Vater is a small opening that enters into the first portion of the small intestine, known as the duodenum.
On June 1st 2016 I had the Whipple Procedure performed to remove as much of the cancer as they could get, and am now undergoing chemotherapy for 5 months then a month of radiation, so I could use all the prayers of my readers. I will never let something like this beat me, I have a family to think about; it’s not just me on this ride.
Despite that fact I will do my best to not let it interfere in me writing for you, at least once a week. I just might start blogging about my chemo and my visits, kind of let everyone know my progress I normally go on Monday’s but since Monday is a holiday my appointment was moved to Tuesday, which is fine as the following week is my “off week” (I go 2 on 1 off with chemo); radiation however, will probably be different.
